MACADAMIA BENEFITS

Macadamia nuts are amazing little nutrient-filled powerhouses that come from the macadamia tree. They contain some important essential vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin A, iron, B vitamins, manganese and folate, as well as protein, healthy fats and antioxidants.

1 ounce of walnuts provide our body with

  • 17g Monounsaturated fat

  • 0.3mg Thiamin (Vitamin B1) (23% DV)

  • 1.2mg Manganese (59% DV)

  • Only 367mg Omega 6 fatty acid

Keep your heart health

These nuts are rich in healthy monounsaturated fats which are said to be cardioprotective by reducing cholesterol level and help to clean the arteries. Macadamia also lowers the level of triglycerides, which is a kind of body fat and reduces the risk of coronary disease.

Brain health

Macadamia contains a high amount of Thiamine (Vitamin B1), which is a vital human nutrient. It plays an important role in maintaining a healthy nervous system, help improve memory and concentration power. Vitamin B1 also is known to slow down the progression of Alzheimer’s disease.

Strengthen your bones

Phosphorus and magnesium are abundant in macadamias, and play a variety of roles including bone and teeth mineralization, metabolism, absorption and transportation of nutrients.

Lower In Inflammation-Causing Omega-6's

Consuming too many omega-6 fatty acids in our diet can be a contributing factor to chronic inflammation in the body, which links to a variety of diseases such as cancer, heart disease and diabetes. A handful of nuts a day is a great way to get added protein, fiber, and vitamins and minerals, but most nuts tend to be higher in omega-6 fats than omega-3s, which can tip our body into an inflammatory state if we don’t balance it out with omega-3s from other foods too. Macadamias, on the other hand, are much lower in omega-6s.

For an ideal storage environment macadamia kernel should be kept in a cool, dry area – preferable below 30°C
